Friends of Coconut Tree Training 

            Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Thoothukudi and Coconut Development Board, Chennai jointly organized six days (16.12.2019- 21.12.2019) training programme to coconut growers for tree climbing by using Friends of Coconut Tree (Tree climber). 20 beneficiaries of Coconut growers from Rajaputhukudi village were selected for the training. The selected coconut farmers were given six days training in the KVK campus. In this training, technologies in coconut cultivation, pest and disease management and recycling of farm waste were covered. Other than this, Method of tree climbing using the device were trained by the master trainees from Coconut development board. As part of this training, Exposure visit was arranged to State Coconut Nursery, Killikulam. In valedictory session,certificateswere awarded to the participants. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the coconut Olympics competition. Coconut tree climbing equipment was provided to all beneficiaries at the end of the programme.
